Welcome to the Odissi Dance Course, where you'll discover the timeless beauty of this classical Indian dance form from Odisha. She is gifted young Odissi soloist from Kolkata. She is a senior disciple of Guru Sharmila Biswas, who has trained and groomed her from the age of twelve.
Rohini tours extensively in India and abroad as a part of her Gurus repertory.
She has recently started her journey as a soloist, dancing in a few well known platforms, and has received appreciation from the audience and press.
She is a recipient of Young Artistes Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture and recently has been empaneled as one of the artiste for WD projects of SPICMACY.
Rohini was awarded Doverlane Award and Sanjukta Panigrahi Memorial Award twice in the year 2008 and 2009 respectively.
She has also being a part of world famous Nrityagram Ensemble’s collaborative production Ahuti with Srilanka based Chitrasena Dance Company.
She has performed at prestigious Joyce theatre New York ,Fall for Dance at New York City Centre , and 22 cities across United States. She has also performed in Canada, Vietnam and Maldives.
Rohini has choreographed a solo thematic piece Kaikeyi under the cross mentorship programme offered by Warrier Foundation. Some of her prominent solo performance are Raindrops festival (Mumbai), Udayraga festival, Navapallava and Odissi International Festival .
